The apartment

This elegant rental in the Marais plays a discreet opulence, characterized by extreme care for detail. Everything has been thought of, for a minimalist but luxurious decoration, in a graphic contrast of black and white deployed with virtuosity.

You enter this elegant rental in the Marais through a small corridor that gives onto the main room. From the entrance, beautiful reproductions of art set the tone, with a painting by Frank Stella and a painting by Aki Kuroda. To the left of the entrance is the fully equipped kitchen area, with beautiful wooden kitchen tops. In front of the entrance, the sitting area, and to the right, behind a wall, the dining room.

The elegance that emanates from the very pure white chosen as the backdrop of the whole is deliberately cultivated. Moldings in the ceiling, curtains, sofa, antique armchairs, dining room chairs, and even the porcelain chandelier: white dominates and evokes a luxurious luxury, minimalist and contemporary. Some touches of black and furniture and paintings chosen with discernment, give to the whole much energy. In order to not obstruct the view, useful objects are hidden in large cupboards which are also white, located on both sides of a mirror at the end of the dining room. You will find in these closets a sound system and an air conditioner.

The decoration plays the paradoxes and holds with virtuosity a delicate balance between opposites: in the living room, the abstract and conceptual side of the black and white paintings respond to the feminine sensuality of the sculpture and the line drawing that surround the sofa. Antique furniture, such as the Second Empire armchair and Louis XV armchairs are fitted with contemporary furniture and accessories, such as Philippe Starck's lamp or the Mies van der Rohe coffee table.

To the left, next to the kitchen corner, a small corridor, separated from the main room by a mirror door, leads to the bedroom, the bathroom and the toilet. The same sure taste is found there, which is directed towards objects and works of art in demanding minimalism.

The double room of this elegant rental in the Marais declines the black and white by reuniting, here as well, the challenge of reconciling oppositions: it offers a cozy cocoon like a boudoir, with wallpaper patterned in luxuriant foliage and a black padded armchair in Leather, but also suggests evasion with two photos of authors.

Finally, the bathroom includes a shower cubicle with a hand shower and large diameter shower pommel.

The bedding & washrooms

This elegant rental in the Marais consists of:

  • 1 bedroom with a double bed (160 x 200);
  • 1 double sofa bed (140 x 200) located in the living room;
  • 1 independent shower room with toilet included.

The neighborhood

This elegant rental in the Marais is located in the heart of a lively and vibrant district, steeped in history but also at the forefront of fashion.

The Place des Vosges, former Place Royale, is the historic heart of the Marais. This magnificent square, lined with private mansions, most of which date back to the 17th century, was inaugurated on the occasion of the engagement of King Louis XIII and Anne of Austria. Both august and discreet, this beautiful square has been the address of many French writers such as Victor Hugo, Colette and Georges Simenon.

At 41 rue de Turenne, very close to this elegant rental in the Marais, you will find La fontaine de Joyeuse. The current fountain, designed by the sculptor Isidore Boitel, dates from 1847, but a fountain has ever existed here since the 16th century. Lift your eyes to admire its vault, decorated with a bas-relief depicting animals.

One goes to the Moonshiner, a pizza restaurant and a cocktail bar on rue Sedaine. After one of its thin crust pizzas, acclaimed by the regulars, one seeks the bar. But, faithful to its image of speakeasy, the latter is camouflaged behind the door of the cold room of the pizzeria!

Café Charlot is a neighborhood bistro with a retro atmosphere, just across the street from the Marché des Enfants Rouges. Set in an old bakery, the cafe has kept the sign above the entrance and counter.

At the Jeroboam wine bar, one appreciates non-standardized wines with each one having its own beautiful personality. Distributors of wine by the glass take us for an unusual gustative stroll, accompanied by a plate to peck in a tapas way.

To see and be seen, one loves the luxurious setting of the brasserie Les Grandes Marches, right next to the Opéra Bastille. This large brasserie in the traditional French tradition offers a nice bench of the fishmonger, with oysters, shells and crustacean plates. To settle in, one has the choice between the mezzanine with view on the Bastille and the heated terrace.

For a rock concert, songs or music of the world, go to Café de la Danse. In this intimate place, we communicate in music and we are always well placed in this small room that you will even prefer to be standing, or comfortably sitting on the mezzanine.

Sauver Le Monde des Hommes at 42, rue Saint-Antoine, is a store reserved for these gentlemen, who will find there everything their heart desires: beautiful clothes, beautiful objects. Every two months, we explore a dream of escape around an ephemeral thematic selection: clothes, books, accessories and objects loaded with history and memories.

While Monsieur is shopping, Madame will go to relax in the Hammam Les 1001 Nuits, reserved for women (obligatory swimsuit). One is resourced in the warmth of the steam, enjoying massages and body treatments in a clean and well-kept place.

One can bring back as a souvenir a bottle of wine, of course, but the olive oils also have their "Grands Crus". We discover a whole range of oils carefully chosen by Oliviers & Co. In this store that smells good as Provence, one chooses according to his taste a natural oil or fragrant with basil or thyme. The exceptional olive oils come from the French terroirs and the shores of the Mediterranean. Oliviers & Co also sells cosmetics based on olive oil, renowned for its anti-aging properties, and you will also find the famous Marseille soap.
