"a very pleasant stay in this beautiful apartment on Boulevard Saint Germain, excellent restaurants all around"
This Prestigious apartment in the Latin Quarter offers all the luxury of a renowned address, with elegance faithful to the spirit of the Boulevard Saint-Germain. The apartment is divided into two parts, connected by a bridge of greenery, a small garden ,very rare in the city of lights.
This Prestigious apartment in the Latin Quarter has nooks and crannies full of charm that make the best use of its volumes and unexpected distribution.
We enter by a corridor which leads, on the right, to a superb bedroom with opulent elegance. The fireplace in red marble, with its herringbone parquet floor and the huge mirror in a gilded wood frame over the fireplace confirms a typical Saint-Germain spirit.
In front of the entrance, three doors open up to a closet, the shower room and the toilet.
In the shower room, the decoration is refined, with the sinuous lines of its shell-shaped bowl, fashionable vintage furniture and a charming pedestal table.
To the left of the entrance, one reaches the sumptuous dining room and the lliving room, the walls covered with books, as it should be in the Latin Quarter. Bathed in a beautiful light that is intensified by the white walls, these two rooms breathe a distinguished luxury. The decoration combines antique and design furniture, a white marble fireplace, a large mirror in a gilded wooden frame, and original artwork hanged on the walls. In the living room you will find an Empire style service trolley, while the office and reading area is decoretade in a contemporary design with a Plexiglas table.
At the end of this Prestigious apartment in the Latin Quarter , you will find the kitchen in redish hexagonal floor tiles, which also benefits from an abundance of light thanks to the two windows that overlook the inner courtyard. Compact and functional, it is fully equipped.
All you have to do is cross the bridge and you reach the second part of the apartment: a bedroom, a living room, a dining area and a small bathroom. Vacation in the countryside is the atmosphere in this studio, with Venetian blinds and a rustic wardrobe painted with floral folk motifs. At the end on the right, you will find a mini kitchen area with a grating kitchen top, surmounted by a mirror of red and yellow azulejos, and finally a bathroom with a walk-in shower.
This Prestigious apartment in the Latin Quarter consists of:
Today there is no trace left, neither of the ditches of the ancient enclosure of Philippe Auguste which protected Paris, nor of the Porte Saint-Bernard. However, the rue des Fossés-Saint-Bernard, very close to our Prestigious apartment in the Latin Quarter, keeps the memory in its evocative name. The Saint Bernard Gate, first pierced on the fortifications in the 15th century, receives an arc similar to those of the Porte Saint-Martin and Porte Saint-Denis in 1670. It will be destroyed in 1797.
The street has two good addresses that one has to visit. Visit the AOC Resto to find the flavors of a traditional and tasty French cuisine, as it is served on Sundays with family.
A little further on, the restaurant Au Moulin à Vent aims at a higher degree and has become a specialty of Chateaubriand shallots in butter or béarnaise sauce and frog legs.
A few steps from this Prestigious apartment in the Latin Quarter, at the end of Boulevard Saint-Germain, you can stroll along the Quai de la Tournelle, a paradise for second-hand booksellers, the bouquinistes. Do not forget to look through the old books for few moments, to observe the mansions built in the 17th century as well as the old building of the General Inspection of Navigation.
On the Quai de la Tournelle, the famous restaurant La Tour d'Argent now has its delicatessen, Le Comptoir de la Tour d'Argent. There, one stocks up on quality products, organize delicious snacks, or brings back some gifts.
On number 20, Boulevard Saint-Germain, one enters with reverence at Thés de Chine. It is one of the oldest tea houses in Paris, a favorite place to enjoy genuine teas from China, chosen by Vivien Messavant. We come to discover vintages side of puerh and wulong.
Finally, on the other side of the Seine, you can find two unusual addresses for enthusiasts when you cross the Pont de Sully. The Maison de la Mouche Dubos offers all the fishing equipment, flies and bait that will satisfy specialists. There are also specialized bags, which can accommodate all the fisherman's gear, or satisfy lovers of diversion of well-designed objects.
Right next door, the Giant Notre Dame store is devoted to the little queen. The passionate will prepare their next outing on the asphalt ribbon by optimizing their mounting thanks to the wide choice of spare parts.
