The apartment

This romantic apartment in the Latin Quarter is the ideal setting for a romantic weekend in Paris. Breathing, as the poet desires, an atmosphere of "luxury, calm and voluptuousness", he combines contemporary furniture with original works of art for a very "left bank" effect.

The entrance of this romantic apartment in the Latin Quarter overlooks the main room, a refined cocoon that includes a living room and a dining area. Books, paintings and art reproductions create a warm and cozy atmosphere. The dark veined wood of the many antique furnitures cohabits harmoniously with the more modern pieces of furniture, like the very lovely marquetry coffee table.

Long and heavy satin curtains, beautifully hanged and placed next to a Chinese vase and a painting by Jean-Pierre Poidevin, is a still-life style of the Dutch Golden Age.

The living area also includes a fireplace and a flat-screen TV, while the dining area is equipped with Philippe Starck (Victoria Ghost) chairs, elegantly placed around a rounded dinning table.

From the entrance, the door on the left opens to the separate kitchen, while the one on the right opens onto a corridor to access the separate toilet, bedroom and bathroom.

The kitchen, fully equipped, is a rare spacious trait to find in Paris. On the wall, the large ledge of an unusual mirror serves as a fruit basket.

At the end of the corridor, the room overlooks the courtyard and plays the card of a delicious outdated romanticism, with a thick quilt. The large en-suite bathroom, decorated with discernment, has a shower cabin and a bathtub.

The bedding & washrooms

This romantic apartment in the Latin Quarter consists of:

  • 1 bedroom with a queen size bed (160 x 200) and en-suite bathroom (bath and shower) with toilet included;
  • 1 independent toilet.

The neighborhood

The location of this romantic apartment in the Latin Quarter is the very best for a romantic weekend: situated very close to the Seine, and down the street with a marvelous view of the majestic towers of Notre-Dame that rise on the “île de la cité”.

Rue des Bernardins is in the heart of the Latin Quarter, very close to the Boulevard Saint-Germain and at the foot of the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève. It is the ideal area for a long walk along the river where the bouquinistes are located, sellers of antique books and souvenirs.

You will discover with pleasure many good restaurants, such as La Grange Aux Canards. As its name implies, this restaurant has become a specialty of South-West dishes based on duck, confit, magret and gizzards: a sincere and invigorating cuisine, without unnecessary frills, far from the disappointing "tourit trap” restaurants

It would be a pity, since we are so close to the river, not to try The Nouvelle Seine. This restaurant-barge, located on quai de Montebello, sways with delight at the expense of cabaret burlesque shows.

Another "café-concert" is Le Baryton. Enchanted by the atmosphere of this original piano bar, you can listen to quality musicians, or you can try your hand at the open mic concerts.

If the night has gone on late, you will definitely be in need of a delicious coffee filled with aromas the next morning. Da Zavola, cafe and grocery store, will allow you to take a break in the Italian style. You can also go there for lunch or an aperitif to taste authentic Italian products.

But It is sugested to stay for brunch time: where one is refuelled in bread and viennoiseries at the bakery La Parisienne, the official supplier of the Palais de l'Élysée. The President's bread can be brought back for a breakfast in bed in this romantic apartment in the Latin Quarter.

Enjoy, at your own will and desire, the many boutiques of the neighborhood. The bibliophiles will may stop at L'Oeil de Mercure, to marvel at old vintage books, original editions and manuscripts. Let’s stop at Diptyque, the mythical perfume shop, famous for its candles with heady scents. Finally, the confident boutique Rockridge Paris makes its honey of original objects and exclusive jewelry.
